The Store - Ampersand

Orono, Maine is the home of the largest campus of the University of Maine and also of Ampersand, a store that is part health food store, part dispenser of great sandwichs, a place to get the best coffe in town, and pastries that will bring you back for more.

Owner Roberta Bradon is usually in the store, dispensing not only good coffee but guidance through its large stock of healthy food, fresh bread, nutritional supplements, organic food and bulk grains and cereals.

Ampersand is on Mill Street, right in the village or Orono. If you're going north on Rte 2, turn right on Mill Street, and The Store - Ampersand is just a few buildings up on Mill Street on the left.

Borealis Breads are available fresh there on Monday through Saturday.
