Borealis Breads is dedicated to serving our customers with quality food made using locally sourced ingredients—including local wheat from Aurora Mills and Farm. We are an artisan bakery that offers freshly made bread, pastries, and other baked goods daily.

​Since 1993, our bakery has been an advocate for crafting bread locally, from seed to loaf. We use Maine-grown wheat, Maine-grown oats, our own sourdough starter, and traditional bread-making methods to create the wide variety of bread that we offer. This is in line with our principle of treading lightly on our planet.
Supporting the local economy
Borealis Breads is employee-owned. Our team takes pride in supporting the state’s thriving sustainable wheat supply by buying from local producers whenever available. We focus on employing Maine residents as a way to make employment accessible to members of our community year-round.
